I would recommend this magnetic sweeper with one reservation, and that has caused my rating to be only a 4 star: It did a great job of picking up the metal, but despite the "quick release" which is merely a lever that removes the contact of the magnet to the bar that picks up, my husband still had to scrape off many of the metal pieces to get them into our trash can. The lawn was therefore still fairly short when the Magnetic sweeper did it's job, which was a good thing. I had my grandson mow the lawn the day before the roofers started the job of replacing our roof. They did not have one for rent. The roofers left our yard full of nails, so I called a local equipment rental company in our small town. We just had the Old Shake Roof of our house replaced with a new "improved" one.
I couldn't believe all the metal staples that came off the old one. My husband said he was so surprized with all the staples and even other pieces of metal that somehow were never seen under the grass in our yard. I compared prices and for our budget this one seemed to be the best.
Great magnetic sweeper. I expect this sweeper to last us a really long time and considering how cheap my boss is that's a very good thing. Very heavy duty.
Well worth the price. Some friends are building their home and experienced flat tires on both their vehicles due to discarded nails on the ground around the building site. I gave them the HEAVY-DUTY 36" Magnetic Sweeper for Concrete, Carpet & Grass. After using it the first time they were amazed at how much scrap metal, including nails and screws, was found around their place. - Quick-Release Unload and they were thrilled.
Bought this magnetic sweeper to clean up our property after a major remodel. WELL worth the price compared to a flat and works VERY well. Well, low and behold we picked up a TON more screws, nails, staples, you name it. Contractor claims to have cleaned up but we didn't want to take any chances to run over nails and screws and have to replace a tire or two.
