This product performs as advertised. I have used the product a couple of times and have been pleased with it's performance. It was cheaper even with the shipping than I could purchase a similiar product in my area.
This product (with the help of a homemade power carpet stretcher) allowed me to restretch 5 rooms of carpet in my home. The padding is not as nice as you'd find on commercial kickers, but you can't beat the price if this tool will be used infrequently. This allows you to set it very close to your trim, which helps the carpet attach to the tack strip properly. The kicker grabs the carpet extremely well.
I'd searched locally at the Lowes for one to no avail.did finally find a couple different ones for close to $100. I even received it days before I was scheduled to. I have been pretty new to Amazon with this buy of the Carpet Kicker being the 3rd purchase. Thanks Amazon. This was a great product for a great price. I only needed one to kick in 1 room of carpet and was so happy to find one here on Amazon for 1/4 of that price.
The one installed collapses more than I would like when struck. It is solidly built and grips the carpet well. It is necessary to raise the knee-pad up to get the right "bite" in some applications. I haven't used a lot of different kickers but this one offers a lot for the money. I would have given it 5-stars except for two small details. 2) The head should be bent down a little further in the operating position. 1) The knee pad could be a little firmer.
