BE AWARE YOU WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE THE GRIZZLEY 1/2 INCH DRILL. I MOUNTED THIS PRODUCT ON A GOOD SOLID BASE AND IT WORKED GREAT.
This is a very nice tool for the price. I recommend this product. No heavy work can be done effectively, but it works great on light work.
You do really have to crank down hard on the tightening adjustments to keep it from moving. Overall, for the price, an excellent thing to own.
For the cheap price that this one is, and given I had a spare variable speed drill lying around the house, it was great. I wanted to try it out, and see what it was all about.
I had little room left in my basement shop, and was wanting a lathe to play around with. I had no room for a full standing one, and given I had no experience with a lathe, I didn't want to sink lots of money into one.
I mounted mine to a spare cherry board that I had, and place it on my jointer bed when I wish to use it, and hang it in an I-beam in my basement when I am done. My only complaint, is that I wish it was longer so that I could do longer pieces.
I works just fine for my 'piddling around' uses.
