This combo axe and knife was for a grandson that does a lot of backpacking in the Rockies. Now his dad can turn over the prep of kindling to him. It is light and handy for that purpose.
The size is good for my wife and the thing is wickedly sharp. Awesome. I purchased this little gem of a hand axe a few months ago and have had a wonderful time chopping stuff in my yard. Go Gerber. I'm going to get the little bit bigger one as well. It holds the edge quite well and with my accusharp sharpener you can really get the razor edge.
It locks in with magnetism. I walked around the woods all hunting season and never lost the knife. The knife slides inside the shaft of the axe which is great. The gator grip makes it 100% better when conditions are wet. It's a great little back pack axe and both hold a really nice edge.
