Generac 5681 GP Series GP8000E 10,000 Wat 410cc OHV Portable Gas Powered Generator With Electric Start (Non-CARB Compliant) Reviews

The Unit is suppose to have a dip stick to check the oil, but it is missing. I received it on Dec 19. So I left a message with a brief discription of my problem and my phone number. Also - A genral complain about Amazon.com. AND - the price has been lowered by over $50 since I purchased it a week ago. I assembled the unit on Dec 20.

I am yet to hear from any one. I called Amazon.com to cancel the order, and even though it was only about 40 minutes since I place the order, then claim they could not cancel it. Assembly went fine and is straight forward for anyone with a mild mechanical sense. I purchased this on Dec 14, 2008. Shipping was good. I called the number in the instructions for assemble and I was sent to voice mail and was asked to leave my number and a tech would call me.

I had placed the order for the generator, and a short time after I was informed of the possibility of missing parts and not being able to get customer service from Generac. Also, when I put fuel in the unit and turn on the gas valve, the valve leaks - not alot but enough to be a fire hazzard - leaks onto the engine housing.
