Fuji Industrial Spray Equipment 9001-3 Aircap Set #3 for XT Spraygun
The Fuji industrial spray equipment air cap set #3 for your spray gun offers fine finishing and airbrush-style spraying; it is suitable for use with most water-based materials such as lacquers, sealers, cellulose, acrylics, synthetics, polyurethane, stains, varnishes, glitter paints, primers, and shading. This air cap set is intended for use with the XT spray gun and does not fit older Fuji spray gun models; it is not intended for use with latex house paint. This air cap set is a complete needle, nozzle, and jet kit with a 0.039-inch nozzle size for very fine atomization; the needle and nozzle are made of durable stainless steel. For a proper fit, the fluid nozzle and needle must match exactly, but the air cap set may be one size up or down from the norm and still be compatible. Fuji Industrial Spray Equipment 9001-3 Aircap Set #3 for XT Spraygun Reviews
In comparison to the #4 aircap typically included with the Fuji systems, in my hands, the #3 aircap produced a dramatic reduction in "micro-orange peel" (apparently typical of sprayed emulsified water-based finishes). Although probably sacrilegious to many of the pros, after three coats using the finer aircap, the finish was smooth enough that I did not even bother sanding out the finish on many of cabinet interiors. Using my favorite brand of water-based shellac, lacquer and EmTech 8000 CV finish (Target Coatings), I found the cost of the aircap was well worth the time savings in sanding/buffing to produce a mirror smooth finish on my kitchen cabinets.
First, there should be a holder for spray, second the short flexible tube should be redesign at the endd so that it does not tear apart easl. The spray is a qood choice, however two new design should be addded to it.
I use it for shading lacquer and spraying water based lacquer. I turn the air cap counter-clockwise one click to make a smaller fan when shading and this works great to satnd back and fog on color. I have had this capset for about a year now and this it works great. I recommend this unit to anyone intersted in purchasing an HVLP system. One thing I noticed is that whe I change needle and aircap sets I have to also tighten or loosen the spindle valve seal nut, this is to allow the needle to slide more freely though the head of the gun. The fuji guns took me a little while to get familiar with, (the spring plate and aircap can be a pain sometimes) but once everything is put together the guns sprays great.
My Fuji system came with a #4 aircap set and it worked just okay while spraying lacquer, shellac, and water base, however it was going on just a bit too heavy. I'll probably get the most use out of this aircap, unless I spray paint, in which case I probably will have to go to a #5 in all likelihood. At the suggestion of my finishing class instructor, I bought the #3 cap and it sprayed those finishes perfectly.
