Fiskars Telescoping Pruning Stik #9240 Reviews
Some key benefits, that you've probably already read in the product description:. It's easier to just pick up the other saw and put it down again. That makes it over 4x more efficient than the older pruner set. Longer than my old pruner. - Great cutting blade.
Very strong. - Very easy to quickly extend and retract. Actually very fun. What used to take me 2 afternoons took me a few hours, and this time I pruned about 2x the amount I did before.
- Even when fully extended, it's light enough that you can still control it. For years, I've been using an older rope-type Fiskars pruner I got from my Dad as I didn't want to buy a new one, though I've never seen the Pruning Stik before. Clicks like a good tool should. - Upwards pointing blade makes everything much easier.
I still use the old pruner, but just the saw attachment for thicker branches. Sure it seems expensive compared to the other products, but you'll love using it. Rotating head is nice, but I've only used it a few times. - Very long. Incredible.
- Nylon belt embedded in the channel in the handle doesn't tangle up in branches or swing around like the rope. The saw for the Pruning Stik is good and convenient, but you still have to screw and unscrew it on and off.
Easy to use. I recommend this unit to people who have to prune trees up to 12 feet high. Very well build.
The Fiskars telescoping tree trimmer is fabulous. Fiskars makes great equipment and is a great company to deal with they give a lifetime guarantee on their trimmers. It is so easy to use and so incredibly sharp that it makes tree pruning and sawing high branches a breeze. This is the second one that I purchased from Amazon.
It does not have the dangling rope and handle my old unit had. Not much. I will try Lowe's or Home Depot for some other brand next time. They could have included a five-cent lock washer for that. [.]. Advertised - cuts up to 1-1/4 inch diameter. It does not have the power nor the longevity and strength of my old unit.
Things to dislike:. Use: Both the head locking mechanism and the extension locking mechanism loosen up continuously. (The old unit was purchased from Builder's Square many years ago. Longevity, strength: I used it for a couple of hours. The saw attachment nut and bolt fell out and got lost almost immediately. It was stolen, and I don't remember the brand name). Things to like:.
The rotating head is useful sometimes. For oak, maple, hickory, 3/4 inch is about all it will manage. The movable blade bent and the spring that retracts that blade snapped. Well, yes if it is something very soft such as a vine stem.
THIS IS THE TOOL THAT SAVED MY ARMS AND BACK. HAVE PRUNED 1/3 MY PROPERTY ALREADY. IT'S SO EASY TO USE WITHOUT GOING UP A LADDER.
