Alright, enough with the "size matters" talk. Fact is a smaller ax has its place in the world. Canoe trips into the Northwest Territories when space is tight. Trail clearing when you want to travel fast and light. And in the hands of smaller-framed people tired of being bossed around by an overgrown ax. If any of the situations above describe you, this is your axe. Crafted with all the fine details of its bigger siblings.
Well balanced and comfortable. Another fiskars winner. This axe does an excellent job splitting smaller to mid sized logs.Edge maintains with a lot of use.Handle seems unbreakable.A quality peice of equipment.
This ax from Fiskars is great - exactly what you expect from such a well-reputed company. In my view, the perfect light duty ax. The handle is solid and feels indestructible, and the head holds an excellent edge. For me, it easily meets all of my splitting/chopping needs, coming close to a full-size ax in efficiency, but without the space requirements.
