My friend got the more expensive one that cook's illustrated recommended. A+. I find this one to be a better value.
Then the readings started getting very erratic, jumping all over the place. Now it just shows 3 dashes on the display. It worked well for a few months. Would have been a good product if it did not malfunction so quickly. I bought it based on a recommendation from Cooks Illustrated, but unfortunately had the same problems as a number of the other reviews here. I replaced the battery and tried recalibrating, but it did not help.
Delivery was fast, as well. Ordered this product for Thanksgiving so I would have an accurate Meat Thermometer and it works perfect.
Especially during the holidays I do alot of baking and my time is pressed to perform the duties of yeast baking and this thermometer outperforms all others for rapid response. Awesome. Short and to the point here, IT WORKS. Big Thumbs Up, Way Up. Instant. Check out the review in COOKS ILLUSTRATED.
