Only possible con I can think of:. Takes measurements quickly and very accurately. Great value for money. Pro's:. Great tool, does what it's meant to do. - you can only store 1 measurement in its memory, though you can add and substract data to/from memory. Easy to use, clear instructions manual.
A simple beeping sound makes a great deal of difference. This measuring device is great. Very handy. The one thing which makes the Bosch stand out from the Stanley model is the beeping sound when you take a measurement. Very useful for measuring floor-to-ceiling height when the room has high ceiling.
Daytime, anything over, oh, 40 feet is tricky to measure. The area calculation will come in handy for indoor measurements. Leave it in the car when you go shopping. This has been a huge time-saver. Outdoors. A quick warning: It will set off every shop-lifting sensor I've come across, which is annoying. Just use it when the sun's not out.
Really miss the inches plus fractions. I give it four stars because the idiots did not include an inches only scale. First cut of the day - senior moment. It quickly and accurately measures things.
A number of the sticks of trim had to be measured and installed 3 floors up. We just set up on every other lookout and measured left, then right and recorded the numbers on the wall and on the cut list. That was a DUH design error. or using a tape is very awkward. In our case, the infill trim between the lookouts on the gable ends of the house we are remodeling.
Went very fast and the measurements were spot-on. He was running his tape out and in and out and in. You can measure a room much faster with one of these. Showed it to the drywall sub. With a tape this would be awkward and time consuming and not too accurate and not fun all all. It really works.
Much care thereafter. Swing from things. It's great when you have to be very accurate (trim, etc). No scaffolding.
No more fighting to hold a tape out as long as possible or having it flop over the lamps and trinkets in the room. Works as promised. It is a great tool for measuring existing spaces which I then draw in CAD. I think I made the right choice. The price of this unit made more sense than others given the way I intended to use it. Makes measuring by yourself a breeze.
